ResiDUCT™ is a slimline, high performance metal ducting system

Designed to work with high airflow rates for MVHR and to fit in a standard ceiling void without the need for changing ducting type, introducing manifolds and access hatches.

Available in 4 sizes:
300x100mm, 300x125mm, 400x100mm and 400x125mm (equivalent up to 230mm∅)
ResiDUCT™ can work in conunction with PVC ducting as a hybrid system design e.g. 220x90mm

Air leakage is the hidden enemy of an efficient ventilation system. In a single run of ducting, there can be many air leakage points as ducting is connected together which adds up across each system install.

This leads to increased energy consumption and running noise as the MVHR unit has to compensate when commissioned. ResiDUCT™ addresses air leakage with two innovative design features;

1. Integral Stiffeners

ResiDUCT™ stiffeners are manufactured into all female parts and connectors, offering a unique strengthening feature for the ductwork that enhances performance and reduces air leakage.

The stiffeners help maximise airflow capacity by adding strength as the parts are pushed together - supporting common weak points found in other types of jointing e.g. slip joints.

2. Socket Seal Joints

ResiDUCT™ male and female parts are designed to fit seamlessly together with socket seal joints.

The jointing system prevent bowings and leakage gaps as the parts are pushed together.

Socket seal joints aid installation time and easily connect to plastic ducting systems where the use of hybrid systems (metal and plastic ducting) have been designed to achieve higher airflow performance.

A MVHR unit may be powerful enough to deliver higher airflow rates demanded under Part O, but installed performance will also be dependent on the ducting that it connected to it.

To achieve the higher performance, the duct size usually has to be increased, potentially up to 180 or 200mm for supply and extract, however it’s not always simple to apply this in residential applications.

The typical ceiling void in a residential dwelling is around 150mm.

Part O: Overheating may demand increased ventilation airflow rates which will require 180-200mm ducting,
which is not always feasible due to spacial restrictions within each dwelling.

ResiDUCT™ is a low profile ducting solution designed to deliver higher airflows, typical with overheating with ease.

ResiDUCT is available in standard sizes:

300 x 100mm equivalent to 180mm ⌀

300 x 125mm equivalent to 200mm ⌀

400 x 100mm equivalent to 205mm ⌀

400 x 125mm equivalent to 230mm ⌀

Where increased ventilation rates are required to meet overheating planning conditions, a cost effective ducting design is being adopted for MVHR systems - hybrid ducting.

Both metal and PVC ducting are designed to work together to help strike a balance between flexibility and airflow performance - and an ideal solution for residential applications.

How does ResiDUCT™ reduce air leakage?
